Houdini Tools Installation

System Requirements

Minimum version is Houdini 20.0.751 or newer with Python 3.8 or newer.

Installation Process

Open a terminal in the current directory and run the appropriate script for your OS:

Windows

./install_windows.bat

Linux and MacOS

./install_unix.sh

Configuration Details

During installation, enter your Houdini major version (e.g., 20.0). Do not enter the full build number (e.g., 20.0.751).

Automatic Setup

The installation script will automatically:

Warning: If you have multiple versions of Houdini (e.g., 20.0.751 and 20.0.896) installed, automatic installation may not work correctly. You will need to install the Python package manually and copy Dronatello_tools.json to your Houdini Documents package folder.

Starting Houdini Tools

After installation:

  1. Launch Houdini.
  2. Open Python Panel (Misc → Python Panel).
  3. Select Project Manager from the menu.

Warning: If Project Manager is not available, check that the Dronatello_tools.json package file was installed correctly in your Houdini Documents package folder.
